The Cueva Pintada is a chamber carved into the rock and decorated by the ancient Canarians with a frieze of geometric motifs. Today it is part of a museum and archaeological park that preserves the village of Agáldar, with more than fifty houses and artificial caves.
Gáldar was the largest aboriginal settlement on Gran Canaria and the residence of the guanartemes when the Castilians arrived, so the visit helps you understand how the island lived before the conquest.
