Cuatro Puertas (“Four Doors”) is an artificial cave carved into the volcanic tuff of Montaña Bermeja, at an altitude of about 300 m. It owes its name to its four north-facing entrances, which lead into a large chamber.

Around the summer solstice, the sun lights up the back wall through the second entrance. Around it are other caves with spaces for everyday life and for ritual use. It is an open-air site on the hillside, not a museum.
