The Maipés de Agaete is a large burial ground of the ancient Canarians: some 700 burial mounds spread over more than one square kilometre of volcanic badland. Some of the tombs are more than 1,300 years old.
It has an interpretation centre with panels, scale models and audiovisuals in several languages, and accessible trails to explore the necropolis.
