What to expect in Fataga
Known as the valley of a thousand palms, the Fataga ravine is a green ribbon of palm trees between dramatic rock walls. The village at its heart is small, white and quiet, with very few tourists.
It is the most photogenic side of the island’s south, only a short distance inland from the busy coast.
The trip and practical tips
The route is 75 km: south along the GC-1, then up into the mountains on the GC-60, about 70 minutes from Las Palmas.
Because of the distance, Fataga works best as a day trip, and it combines well with Maspalomas or Mogán for a full day in the south. The return can be arranged on WhatsApp.
